Joseph “J.P.” Hackney joined the Conner Law Group in 2017 following his graduation from University of Georgia School of Law. While in law school, he was a Georgia Sea Grant Legal Research Fellows, and he was awarded the 2017 State Bar of Georgia Environmental Law Section Award. He worked for the Walton County District Attorney’s Office as a part of the Prosecutorial Justice Clinic Program and the Secretary of State’s Office in the Elections, Securities, and Charities Divisions. Mr. Hackney was a member of the University of Georgia School of Law Mock Trial team.
Prior to Law School, Mr. Hackney completed Basic Training and Officer Candidate school and was commissioned as an officer in Georgia Army National Guard. He continues to serve in the Army National Guard. As an undergraduate at the University of Georgia, he competed as a distance runner on the Cross Country and Track teams. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in History and American Indians Studies. He was also recognized with the Joel Eaves and Dick Bestwick awards for having the highest G.P.A. among varsity athletes.
